HOW YOU RENEW YOUR LICENSE

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) is no longer issuing paper renewal notices and licenses. All renewal and licensing documentation will be done electronically. Read an IDFPR news release and FAQ on the department's decision to go paperless. To ensure that you receive email notifications from IDFPR, make sure that your email address and contact information are up-to-date. Click here for instructions on updating your licensee contact information.

Renewal Applications can be submitted to IDFPR on or after 2/1/2020 with the $150 State of Illinois licensing fee by 4/30/2020.

It is the responsibility of each licensee to properly renew their license. The licensee must accurately complete a renewal application to IDFPR online

Note - A person whose license has been expired for more than 2 years shall be required to meet the requirements for a new license, including completing all pre-license education and passing the exam.

MANAGING BROKER TO BROKER

I do not wish to renew as a Managing Broker and would like to revert back to the Broker license. Is this possible?
The Managing Broker renewal application will include terms for reverting back as well as the fee.

If I revert back, how much CE will I need?
It is expected that you would have completed the equivalent of 6 hours per year according to the Act which would mean you would have completed 18 regular CE hours and no Broker Management CE by the Broker April 30, 2020 renewal. The 18 hours would include a minimum of 9 Core hours and a maximum of 9 Elective hours. You would not be required to renew your Managing Broker license for the 2019 renewal and following application to revert back to the Broker license your new renewal date would be April 30, 2020.
